Lyrics : Tengo
Spanish | English |
---|---|
Tengo… | I have… |
Y lo que tengo lo mantengo | And what I have, I keep it |
A base de amor y fe | With love and faith |
Siento… | I feel like… |
Que si no estás no corre el viento | When you’re not here, the wind can’t blow |
Quizás afuera sí pero no dentro de mí | Outside maybe but not inside of me |
Vengo… | I came… |
Sin maletas con lo puesto | With nothing packed, just the clothes on my back |
Y esta canción, mi remedio, vitamina pa’l vivir | And this song, my cure, my vitamin for stayin’ alive |
Vuelvo… | I came back… |
Y a teneros si estás lejos | To have you if you’re far away |
Pongo el freno cuando pasas junto a mí | I put on the brake when you pass by close to me |
La melodía de una rumba | The melody of a rumba song |
Me dijo: el secreto no está en la tumba | Told me this, the secret isn’t in the grave |
Sino en el vivir | It’s in being alive |
Y viviendo a todo trapo | And giving all you’ve got |
Olvidé caminar despacio | I forgot to walk slow |
Y las heridas, en mis pies sentí | And the wounds, I felt on my feet |
No cantaré a lo que desconozco | I won’t sing to what I don’t know |
Sólo a lo que entró en el fondo | Just what went into the very bottom |
Como el pozo del vino que bebí | Like the well of wine I drank |
Y antes de emborracharme | And before getting wasted |
Brindaré mirando a tus ojos y gritaré | I’ll drink a toast, looking into your eyes, and I’ll shout |
El secreto es el amor que siento por ti | The secret is the love I feel for you |
